Topic: Moderators group permissions Posted: 22 April 2005 at 6:16pm |

Hello!
I m adding permissions to Moderators Group and I am dealing with the following problem:
I create New Forum Permissions for User Group and I do not click on sticky topics.
However, moderators can still create sticky topics. Why?

i think Moderator groups and admin can,
in the forum set up forum admin only means forum admin and moderators i think,
will have to wait from boRg to confirm . as even hes has admitted the
permssions system is not a nice one. thats why hes re designed it for V8

I realized I had to uncheck the "moderate forum option".
The new problem is that with the above option disabled, moderators cannot delete posts either.
I check create polls and delete posts but only create polls permission works on my moderator
I cannot understand why is this happening.

I ve tried everything
I want my moderators to have 3 permissions:
-create polls
-create sticky topics
-delete posts
I tick the above options on the User Group Permissions and its working
for the first 2, BUT there is no way to make them delete posts!!!
Why isn't it working???

You need to make sure they have modertor permissions set for that forum.
Only moderators can delete the posts of others.
When the a group is set to moderate a forum they can, delete the posts of others, set sticky topics, edit user profiles etc.

Yes, but I do not want them to have all of the moderator permissions.
I want just the above 3.
No profile editing, no ip tracking, etc.
It can't be done?

Actually, when they have the permission to delete/move posts, they may
also edit/delete profiles etc. which is something I do not want them to
do.
