Okay setting up a fresh forum with WW7 beta 3 and running into some annoyances.  The forum is for a DAoC guild.  By default when someone registers they only gain access to the public area. And there is no ladder system for public users.

However I have a ladder of 10 some groups for regular users.  The annoyance comes in at having to add permissions to the Guild Only for each ladder group.   Is there an easier way to handle this?   I thought possibly that adding the first ladder group would take care of later rungs on the ladder...  but alas it didnt.

Is there something I have overlooked to allow this to happen?

Cool thanks for the exspedient reply.   I love the ability to do all this complicated sh*t heh so please dont take my post as a bitch.   But just got annoying after the 3rd or 4th group of setting up custom permissions for everyone.   Considering playing with the datastructure and just writing a SQL script to dupe the permissions.

If you have less groups out of the ladder system why not setup teh default permissions of the forum to suit the ladder groups then have individual permissions for those groups that are not in the ladder system.

Thats the problem by nature just registering with the forum doesnt get you standard member access.  One of the admins needs to move you to member access to view Guild business type posts. Or should I say by design in the schema...  we dont want the average person to have read access to everything...  but the bulk of the posts will reside in the guild only category.

Problem fixed...  spent 20 minutes and wrote a script to copy the permissions from group to group.   Its pretty much a one off or I would share it heh.
