    Posted: 09 October 2007 at 10:38am
Hi friends,

Can anyone help me in this.. ??

I need code for opening browser window in full screen resolution.. like.. 800 x 600 size.

I have entire site done in flash file of this particular size.. now all i need to insert this swf in html file.. but I don't want any menu bar or scroll bar or tiltle bar in order to display this swf properly...  (my client provided the swf.. I just have to publish it online.. )

Please can anyone guide me through this..

all i need is

1) when user types domain name of the site .. then the site should open in 800 x 600 full screen..

2) please note that I don't want new pop up to open from first browser window..

3) instead I want same or first window to transformed into full screen resolution..

if this is not possible.. then can there be any way to make first window disappear after new popup opens ...??

I hope I haven't confused you all yet.. Tongue

please help...

thanks in advance...

this is not possiable what you want.
you can open a new window at that size and settings.

you where saying about closeing the opener window this is not possiable without a alert asking if you wish.

the user will not like that either. i find users dont like it where the site is controling to much of the settings of the display. ie what they can and cannot see.

Hi dj air,

thanks for your input..

I know it sounds bit unpractical.. but what to do ... my client's entire site has already been designed by someone in flash.. with swf size of 800 x 600..  (i don't even have .fla to change the size..)

and now only option for me is to open that swf in full screen resolution..

please guys.. help me here.. or at least show me the alternative..

Have a look at this site: http://www.codelifter.com/main/javascript/selfclosewindow1.html

That code may help you out a bit. It features a self launching window upon entering a URL and then self closes. It may have to be altered a bit to suit your needs exactly, but try it out and see if that works for you.

Sonya, just play around with it a bit. I also don't know any javascript, but I'm usually able to acheive what I want by trial and error just changing things around.
