    Posted: 09 June 2010 at 5:03pm
My forum has an increasing number of new users that use SEO spam links in their signatures.

I have seen other forum software that gives the administrator the option of setting a predetermined number of posts before a user can begin using a signature.

Like I said, my forum has new users every single day that will register and make only one post with SEO spamming in their signatures. I am getting tired of the admin responsibilities with these types of users. Dead

Is the new version of web wiz forums going to address this problem?

This has already been developed for version 10.

It will be set at group level, so you can have it so members of the starting group, or any other group can not post links and/or images within forums or blogs. Hyperlinks and images links would be replaced with text.

You will also be able to disable signatures at group level as well, so that signatures of members would not be displayed while they were in that group.

In the meantime you can edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and set it so that any links in your forum have the nofollow tag added to them, making them useless for SEO purposes. This will also be able to be set in version 10 from the admin area instead in a new SEO page that will include meta tag setup.

This new feature should also address the same new users that put links into the body of their posts. It's just the same as putting links into their signatures and there should also be a way to prevent this.
