New message flag not clearing

	If a forum has a new message since the user's last visit, it rightly shows a new message flag. However, if the user fully reads all the new topics under that forum, the forum STILL shows the new message flag. The behavior isn't consistent with the topic/thread listing, which clears after the user reads. If a forum is fully "read" by the user, shouldn't the new message flag be reset?

	I spent a good 10-15 minutes searching for anything resembling this problem and came-up dry. With search terms like "new", "post", "flag" and "thread", the results are far too broad to come back with anything useful. I also went through the FAQ, but found nothing. I assumed that this had to be discussed, since it is a very basic function that HAD to have been seen. Is there a resolution to the problem? Is it considered a problem? Is there anything I can do to change the behavior of WWF to make it work? Can I at-least get a link to one of the many threads that discuss it?

	For performance reasons it is not possible to store each and every post you have read, otherwise things would just grind to a halt. Instead nearly all forums use a system, whereby you have a flag for 'New Posts Since Last Visit' rather than 'Un-read Posts' Once you have read all the posts in the forum, there is a link on the main forum page called 'Mark All Posts as Read', this will then remove the flag from forums, till a new un-read post is made.
