I know a LOT of you out there use this forum. Some in SQL others in AccessDB.

But I was wondering... What about an XML db version of this forum? Many free hosts with asp support it and file sizes will not be an issue. 

SQL is a little heavy on memory and some free server's don't allow more than a few.  If you already use a couple for other stuff, you're already in trouble.  AccessDB's can get huge.  If you're running the board on a free server, memory and filesizes can be an big problem.

More and more servers out there are upgrading to .net 2003 anyway so this would be a logical next step for the forum. Wouldn't you agree?

That would probably need a complete rewrite of the forum. Not sure Bruce would want to do that again

Sorry -boRg- . I didn't realize there was actual work involved

I was thinking mabe an XML based forum would be easier to code than that based on other db systems.  Plus... Updating XML would be a snap.  Anyone and their grandma could do it.  It would be faster too... XML is basically text.

But I guess we'll have to wait until ver.10 or 11?
