I always thought of a News Server it is something like a Forum.. how far is this true?....

Can WWG be integrated with Microsoft Outlook or Netscape... so as to download new messages and applying filtering rules????

A forum is somewhat similar to Newsgroups and you could integrate it into Outlook e.g. a dashboard using the URL. The other way around, you could have a NNTP component to download Newsgroup messages into your forum, just having to filter the "dirt".

so, is this means I can integrate the WWG myself into the Outlook, and the NNTP component is installed into the Server holding the forum or what?

No, two different things. Get the Dashboard SDK from Microsoft, so you can integrate the Forum as a "Outlook Today" Page into Outlook.
If you would like to have newsgroups articles in your forum (from a public or private NNTP Server) you need to get a component that can do NNTP and write a script to import them.
