Hi,

just downloaded the free version for evaluation for our corporate intranet,
and so far, gone well...

But, when i try to login into the admin area, entering the correct username and password, i translate the captcha code and enter it, case sensitive, but it returns me with:

Error

The Security Code entered did not match that displayed.
A new Security Code has been generated.

Just keeps looping around this...
Help?

This can often happen when the server is unable to hold the ASP session due to server side issues, or when using load balanced web servers which do not retain the ASP session between servers.

If you don't use load balanced web servers it's best to fix the issue on the server so you can use ASP session, but if you can't do this or on load balanced servers then you can edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and set Web Wiz Forums to store it's session data within the database.

Ta, just plopped some debugging code into the application and you're right, its not holding the SCS session variable.

Tis just a standalone server though, so will examine the IIS settings to see if i can locate a config issue.

Gave it a non-default application name and its own application pool within IIS, and it sorted it.

Many thanks,
b.

Make sure that the application pool for the web site is using only 1 work process, as ASP sessions can not be passed across multiple server processes.

You can also use the Task Manager to make sure the w3wp.exe processes doesn't keep changing it's PID. If it is then it means that the application pool is recycling which would need to be investigated furher.
