Hi, All,
Is there any way I can configure the forum such that any user can post but no registration required. I mean they can put their name on their post but do not have to register first.
Thanks a lot.

When you create a forum you can set who can post replys or new topics.  Just set it so all users can reply and post new topics.

Hi,

Thank you for so quick answer.

I still not get it though! when I create a new forum, the only thing I can do is to allow "GUEST" to be able to read and write. but what I really want is: let everybody can post message on the board with a textfield they can put in their own name but not "guest" for everybody. Did I miss something. Please advise. thanks again.

That would cause an almost major rewrite as the posts are tied to userid's and using a default one you will still need to change a lot of the queries.

I got a problem!!

Nobody can post msgs to my forum.

I have already chosen that option (Guest's access: read and write). But even so, when a not logged user tries to post msgs, a page appears telling that he needs to register or to log in.

Version: 6.34

Is there any idea?

Your forum settings arn't correctly set, reset them and make sure you have set all correctly.

Also version 7 beta 4 allows Guest posters to enter there name when posting.
