Check that your firewall is not blocking port 25, also check with your ISP that they are also not blocking port 25.

someone else scanned my ip for open ports. Smtp service is listed at port 25 (filtered access).

I have no firewall blocking port 25.

Seems it is my isp who blocked port 25 recently.

I can't connect to mail.telenet.net.au using telnet while someone else can.

One last try to fix this.
I received a mail today actually telling that port 25 was closed.

I have a smtp server now that should enable me to send out emails, using mail.selwerd.nl (it will only work for those connected to that isp).

What am I supposed to do now?

questions:
- does mail.selwerd.nl actually have to support cdosys, jmail?
- should I still point the outgoing address to localhost and redirect the host in the smtp server to mail.selwerd.nl?

Thanks in advance.

cdosys, jmail, should work with your ISP's mail server. I often use my ISP's mail server when testing applications using these components.
