Secrets? no, complicated? can be..
You have several factors to consider when pricing a job.
1 - Time taken to do the project
2 - Size of project
3 - Complexity of project
4 - Overheads
The time taken to do the work is mainly what determines the cost nowadays,
do NOT work on a price based on the project. (Your client could, and rightly so, hold you to that and have you doing changes for ever simply by saying he aint happy. And he is perfectly within his rights.)
A quick look around got me the figure of £35 an hour for scripting, you can of course charge what you want. That is just for the labour of you doing the scripting, that doesn't involve your costs and overheads.
(Why do
you need an Admin panel to make changes, I thought it was for a customer?) Maybe I just picked it up wrong..anyway, charge for the Admin area seperate
