In some forums you get a lot of double posters. It would be cool to be able to merge posts.

I can see how that would work well to move a post into another and make them as one.

People do it to get higher post counts...

There was one guy on the forums last year or so that did so much crap posts that he got over 2000 posts in less than a month or two (not gonna say who).

He would post a sentence, then start a new reply and finish it. Got on my nerves. Then he started a "test" thread and had like 4 pages of "tests" in it. Take about spam.

Moderators and forum admin can already move posts from one topic into another. This can be used to merge the posts from one topic and place them into another.

The move button displays to forum admin and moderators at the bottom of each posts next to trhe delete button

Yes but sometimes you get information in one post that is not in the other. It is included in vbulletin and works really well.
