Hiya!

I was wondering if someone could help me...

I'm very inexperienced with ASP and have been trying to install a script I found on planet source code.  It's a username/password script that carries out user authentication and registration.  I uploaded all the files to a folder on my site but each time I try to either log in or create a new user, I get an internal server error (500).  I think (but I really have no clue!) that it might be to do with the database path?

Does anyone know what I've done wrong?

Thanks so much for reading!

Love Vicky xxx

Turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE so you get what the actual server serror is, and hopefully the line coursing the error to occur.

Ok, got the line and I've tried loadsa different things but it's not working.  It's probably something reeeally obvious cos I don't have a clue wot I'm doing!

conn.Open "Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=e:\home\Default\zoebirkett.net\htdocs\cgi-bin\db1.mdb"

is there supposed to be a server.mapPath thingy in there? or is that just for virtual paths? have i used a physcial path? wots the difference? does it matter? is that not the problem?

I appreciate any help you can give me!!

Thanks for reading!

Vicky  xxx

With what you have you don't need to use the MapPath method as you are using the physical path.

Check with your hosting company that the path is correct as the physical path is different on different servers and with different web hosts.
