hmmm if you are the admin or a moderator too i think you can see the IP of every poster. just go to a place they have posted. click on the IP and you will see the banning functions.

Borg first off your product is really nice piece of work. Having said that I went through the entire admin interface and all I found is where to suspend and account status of a member. What am I missing? Is there a place to enter Ip's to ban? Or how is it done, sorry hate to take up your time.

where you see the IP does it say "Logged" or does it give you the IP number as a link? you cannot have it any other way. if you see "Logged" then you are not the forum Admin...

also YES it is in the admin section. just go near the bottom of the left frame menu under "Ban Admin" category and click on "IP Address Banning". doesnt get any simpler than that.

I did that same exact thing, believe it or not.  I was all excited to use the new version and was like "huh.. what the? It's the same".  I had blindly downloaded 6.34 again.   Just assumed that the newest would be at the top.

A side question:

Does v7 have the feature to switch on and off displaying IP address as whole or partially to public, not just admin or mod?

I've heard alot of forum users requesting to know ip address of others so they can guess if one is using more than one alias or not!!!!

Most users wouldn't want their IP to be posted publicly....... also if somebody wanted to use a different alias could just use a proxy...
