Searched for this, but couldn't find anything.

Is it possible for admins to have bigger avatars than ordinary members?
I know you can't now, but can I change the code, so it'll work?

If yes... How?

You would need to edit a number of files to add code that could spot if the account being displayed is the admin account and then display a different avatar if it is.
