Today I installed MSDE and setup a SQL version of the forum. Everything works fine, except searchs are orders of magnitued slower than on Access. Using the same data, no users on the server (it's a test server) a search that takes 0.7 seconds on Access takes 6 seconds or more in the SQL version. Browsing the forum thread pages load in the same amount of time.

I tried reindexing the SQL db but that had no effect on the search speed. Is there some other SQL tip that I'm missing?

Server:
AMD Athlon 2400
512 meg ram
Access db 27 meg
WW 7.6, no mods

Often you won't get a speed increase using the SQL server version on searchs until you have a large number of posts, on smaller databases Access is often faster at the searches.
