what r the best setting to store video from DV-Camera on pc.. im using DivX and movie resolution is blurry but the video appears to be blurred on pc compared to direct playback on pc screen from DV i used InterVideo WinDVR 3 and encoded the video in MPEG-2 which resulted in good screen quality but huge file size.. and finally im abt to try with MPEG-4 ultimately my question, what r the DivX setting to keep a blurfree video on PC PS: the blur makes the video seem like it had been too much enlarged ;-( ------------- http://www.web2messenger.com/theboss">

Have you tried windows media encoder? Sometimes the best way to encode a video is to create an uncompressed avi. Then you can see which codec works best. For video editing I recommend you download virtualdubmod. It is free. ****500th post**** |

capture uncompressed avi?? 2 DV cassetes x 120 min = 240 Min video in 640x480 resolution, i need 180GB storage or uncompressed avi.. i would experiment with DV-IN/OUT instead of using s-video input..may be that fixes my prob

yeah i figured that out but then how do i merge all that parts in one file.. currently my movie is divided in four files.. how do i merge all these files witour losing any quality or changing the codec and since the video camera is not a tripple CCD the video quality is not DVD and add the resolution on the DV is only 320x240 ------------- http://www.web2messenger.com/theboss">

I found the best results with standard MPEG2 and burn it to either Video CD or now DVD. divx supports MPEG-4 compression.. something better compressed and advanced than MPEG-2 anyway the painful expericence 2 borowed hard disk one 60GB and other 80GB and about 100GB of storage already available on my PC, why i need soo much storage was that i wanted to capture raw AVI from the dv, merge and edit it in ulead media studio and then again export it as raw AVI, bcuz the ulead media studio cant utilize DivX encoder efficiently. well anyway my final output is 2 files 700MB each which i can easily burn on 2 CD's the video became sharp and motion was realistic when i enabled the quarter pixel in divx and changed the key frame thresold to 80% infact the encoded video appears more sharp and realistic than the raw AVI.. im happy ohh yeah MPG - 2 solved my problem earlier but massive size of MPEG-2 ------------- http://www.web2messenger.com/theboss">
