Hello,

I didn't see this particular error elsewhere in the forums.  I'm setting up file uploading for the first time, using ASPSMartUpload (which is supported on my ISPs server)  After I select an image to upload and hit OK, I get this error message.

error '80070070'

/df/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 80

Could this be a file pathing issue?  I am using the default uploads folder and users have 'Full Control' over that directory.  However, This forum was copied and people are now actively using this copied forum instead of the original.  Is it possible that somewhere in the code the .asp files have the old paths?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

  Mike

The forum works fantastically otherwise (partially because with previous errors, I've found the answer in here)

It should show more of the error, the error number is fairly generic and multiple components can throw it for multiple reasons. My guess with uploads though is that the folder specified does not have write access. If that is not it, try to get more text on the error.

This is definitely a rights issue... I looked in the asp code and line 80 is the 'create folder' line.  If I create a folder with the correct user name, the upload process returns an error further down saying that it can't write the file.  I can post the text if you like, but the entire forum directory and subdirectories are tagged as Full Control.  This forum is on a server controlled by my ISP.  Is there something I need them to do?  I looked in the Dundas support forum and they said something about giving IUSR rights to the folder.

Thanks

Thats right, the IUSR account on the server needs to have read, write, etc. permissions on the folder. For extra security keep the execute permissions for scripts and applications disabled on the folder.
