Posting to the forum via email is not possible, as it can not be done using classic ASP without components beinmg installed on the web server, so is not a feature of Web Wiz Forums.

  • Yes it can be done
  • Ive got it working, but you HAVE to use MsSQL Server because of its use of triggers and stored procedures
  • Yes it does use components, but so does WWF (eg SAFileUp etc.).  It uses JMail for the mail checking and a Windows Script for collecting
  • Yes, it **may** require the scheduling of the Windows Script via Windows Scheduler, but this can also be easily overcome if not possible on a given host, eg Ive used the Global.asa for scheduling events, even the running of ASP pages.

Are you using MS SQL email functions as well?

I use them for sending Email out (CDOSYS) to mimnic the broadcast of a posted message ... but not for the POP checking ... as they aren't appropriate for this.
