I've been doing research into writing a search engine and have been looking for various free scripts. The only *really* good one I've found so far is Nutch ( http://www.nutch.org - www.nutch.org ) in Java. mnoGosearch ( http://www.mnogosearch.org - www.mnogosearch.org ) looks decent also but I am worried about its ability to handle a large database effectively. Is there any sort of search engine out there in ASP or ASP.NET?
Respectfully,
David.

i started looking into something like that... i put off writing one for awhile because i needed some more experience in .net. I think the problem for most search engines is figuring out a way to handle and search a massive list of indexes. i think it would easier just to get a quote on the google hardware ones
