Hello
this is about two week that when i open my site(in persian lang and using windows-1256 encode) all or some persian char's converted to question mark(?) what happend to my server or this is because of IE or any other thing ?(it happend only at WWF)

how can I solve this problem

reading From data base(all users posts or any that i wrote to database in persian converted to question mark)

ok, if you are using Access database.. you can change the type of database from 'Microsoft Access' to 'Microsoft Access with Unicode' - this should fix it

btw, i faced the same problem using Arabic Language (1265).

I think the default database format that comes with the forum is Unicoded. plz try it and tell me the results, cause there are some others ways to fix it too.

Edit.. sorry, it is not unicoded.

new posts or changing forums name correct's problem but i cant do it for all(creating new forum category or forum is OK but previous converted)

problem solved
cause of problem :
at about three week ago i was upgraded my server mother bord and CPU(before it i removed all hardwares) after this i was repaired windows and updated it and forgot to set default to my language.

that doesn't solve the problem if someone visit your forum and he or she didn't change their regional settings

can you please let me know how to change the database type from access to access with unicode ....

i have same problem With mail System
after uploading my Site into New host (7host.com) i have this Problem
when user send Email from Contact us Of Site and Write some letters in persian lang after sending email will convert to Question marks like this

It maybe that your hosts needs to install persian langauge support onto the server.

because other persian pages work correctly (databases and Webpages that have persian information)

it is on the other server .
web page is located at XXX.194.38.203
and mail server is located on XXX.194.37.224

is it because of that mail server dos not have regional Langs ?

You needn't install the Persian Language on the server, I faced this problem before, I tried many things until one of them worked successfully, I don't remember which one worked, but I think you should do the following:

1- Send your emails as HTML
2- Add the characted code 1256 with the outgoing mail

The CDONTS works fine with me, allowing send the arabic characters 1256 with no problem with the emails.

zMaestro has more experiece with the issue than I do, but for text email, I would think that as text email is often just extended ascii - 256 characters - you would need to have the mail server configured for unicode with suport for Farsi.
