According to an anonymous review on ASPin.com, Web Wiz Forums is 'Littered with typos and grammatical errors', to try and clean any typos and grammatical up please report any here.
Please note that the forums default language is UK English using 'ise'
instead of the US 'ize' and 'colour' not the US 'color', so please
don't report these types of things as typos.

Well I just went through and posted some that are wrong but some that just sound akward, and you should maybe consider re-phrasing. I don't guarantee that all is right here but did my best
Help file
*smileys should be smilies
*Usergroups should be User Groups (you can argue about that though)
*abbreviation 'for example/that is' eg. should be e.g.
Private Messenger
*'From your Private Messenger you can send and receive Private Messages between yourself and other forum members, knowing that your messages won't be viewed by other forum members.'
Sorry but the whole sentence sounds weird. Try something like
With this Private Messenger you can send and receive Messages to other Forum Members. Messages you send will be viewable only by your recipients.
*Private Messages Overview: Every sentence starts with 'This is' try to change that a little.
*Example:
You have 12 Private Messages, you can receive another 28 out of 40 (delete the out of 40 part or rephrase)
*Messages remain in your Outbox until the recipient deletes the message.
Messages remain in your Outbox until the recipient has deleted the message.
Settings
*Make changes to the information on yourself held in your forum profile
Make changes to the information collected by this forum about you.
Edit Profile
*Indicates required fields
Indicates a required field
*Hide your email address if you want it kept private from other users
Hide your email address if you want it to be kept private from other users
*Sends an email when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post.
.......whenever you make a post.

The recommentation "Make changes to the information collected by this forum about you" sounds spammy, maybe something like..
"Make changes to personal information you have given."
I think the Outbox message, and the Edit profile messages are different from common American sentence structure, but are still well formed and probably conform to common English sentence structure.

Checked the Merriam-Webster site. Could find smiley, but not smileys, smilie or smilies. The example for the singilar adjective smiley was "A smiley face". No plural or noun form, so neither smilies nor smileys is probably "proper". Either would be acceptable. Personally, I prefer smileys.
We both have to much time on our hands

Well I was not sure with smilies so I actually put it in word using the UK Proofing Tools and it corrected smileys to smilies. You can also use Emoticons to get around that alltogether. LOL

First, English is a particularly dynamic language. It changes as we breathe, use it and debate it.
None of the above are what by any stretch of imagination might be condemned as 'typos and grammatical errors'. Personally, I find your existing phrasings more euphonious and graceful than any proposed replacement, but the replacements are not 'wrong', either.
I did a search for certain common errors: its/it's and your/you're and you're not guilty of either, except in a one or two spots in comments lines in the scripts files, in places where no user would ever see them.
The only public error I can find is line 39 of the license: "it's associates" should be "its associates".
If it is "log back in" it is probably still "log in" and "log out", although you can see it morphing all around us toward the compact form, with log-in and log-out appearing widely but I don't think it is login and logout yet. Same phenomenon: I think it's now "unlocked", not "un-locked" anymore, but I have a ton of software from shareware and commercial sources, and I can't think of any that comes as close as yours does to good language usage.
I looked at the anonymous "review". You flatter that post by calling it a "review". I'd call it an ignorant insult. Why don't you spend more time enjoying the fact that all the rest of the reviews appreciate WWF correctly. Here's my fav:
"The best web tools i have ever found. Written by http://www.aspin.com/func/review/userlist-search?id=4145010&rid=3040620&qry=webwiz - Anonymous User (#1307-49) from Costa Rica (Sunday, July 20, 2003)

Strengths: Free Stuff, Excellent tools and really easy to implement Weaknesses: No one. Details: I have some of his tools and i can really say they are easy to implement and the most advanced i have seen; and... just try them, this guy is a genius. Review Based On: 1 Month(s) of usage | "
------------- Forever yours,

Thanks Wendy B
After reading the post I thought I had better check my grammer and
spelling in the forum as I know how bad it can be, and something like
grammer and spelling can be changed so easily.

i'm wondering if the "reviewer", and i use that term loosely here, may have meant the comments within the asp docs. i've seen misspellings in there. but if that's the worst someone can say about your forum software i wouldn't worry about it.

its probably been written about 20K times and its not in the actual software but on this page.. http://forums.webwiz.net/wwf_support_forums.asp - http://forums.webwiz.net/wwf_support_forums.asp
If you do need to post a support question make sure you put in as much detail as possible including:- detailed error message (you may need to http://www.webwiz.net/asp/faq/friendly_HTTP_error_messages.asp - turn off friendly HTTP error massages in IE ), version number, version type, database used, etc.

I havn't seen many errors in the forum itself, but in the scripts there are a bit more.. and in your posts like there instead of their
of course, we all forget an apostrophe sometimes, but that's not a big deal is it?

I've had a look to see if the word 'emoticon' is copyrighted, and it
appears that the word has been commomly used since the early 1980's so
wouldn't be copyrighted.

The forum software is great however correct spelling and grammar (not grammer ) is a sign of professionalism and very important to some people, and especially reviewers who are usually word-people!
I'm sure it would only take a short time to put ALL of the forum files through a spell checker (FrontPage maybe).
Most errors are hidden from the public, maybe the reviewer is referring to items in the Admin section, comments and other included files. They all count.
BTW, I was very careful to use the included spell checker on this posting...

Mostly I just see little things here and there
The main thing that sticks is "forum's" where it should say "forums"
ie "There are no forums to display" ...or whatever the phrase was, I can't find it now that there's a reason to, heh

The time is 1:57pm on 30th May 2004

First I want to say I TOTALLY agree with Wendy. I don't think anyone could have put it any better.
second, isn't herve's usage of an other wrong too? shouldn't it be another?? I only point that out to show we all make errors, even when pointing out others errors.
and in webwisers last post..

I appreciate so much that you want to clear up any potential problems that users see/find.. I can see if there were obvious errors, but these seem to be more of a matter of opinion to me?!
Keep up the good work BoRg. I think you have more people thrilled with your products then those who aren't.

I've seen "craete" or "craeted" on many of the comments in the code... of course it should be "create" or "created"
A good text editor with Find>Replace options in all files can fix those types of things quickly.

I sincerely apologize Herve, my intent wasn't to offend you, it was merely to point out that we all have different ways we do/say/type things which doesn't necessarily make them "wrong".
It does bother me that someone would give WebWiz a bad review based solely on spelling and grammatical errors.. because if they wanted, they could pay hundreds of dollars for one that was flawless. It's sort of like when someone gives a homeless person a warm jacket, and they complain about the color.

If you've ever done any professional copywriting or editing, you'll know that it is INCREDIBLY difficult to edit your own material. You need to let it rest for a few days minimum and a few weeks is better.
I go back and look at stuff that I wrote and edited at one time, and later, I find typos and things.
Writing IS RE-writing.
All too often, comments and text are of little importance when you are programming. Functionality is first.
