Hello.. I would like to add a countdown in my signature, and finally found a site that offers (not in java)

the page link is http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=800000&cdt=2005;03;02;00;00;00&timezone=GMT-0600.jpg - http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000& amp;srgb=00ff00&prgb=800000&cdt=2005;03;02;00;00;00& amp;timezone=GMT-0600.jpg

and when I click on that, it will take me to my countdown, but if I post that as a image, nothing shows up.. just a red x.

is what I am doing possible?  what am I doing wrong?  thanks much.

Due to security settings you can not link to images created on the fly.

This is to prevent malicious XXS hacking code being placed into posts.

Images need to have the extension .jpg, .png, .gif, and not contain a '?' or a another extension like .cgi, .asp, php, etc.

If you enable Flash in your forum you could link to such an item done in flash.

HEY.. Thanks a LOT BoRg.  I just found this post.  came here looking for it and found the security issues.. so have been working on that.  but I haven't been getting notified of the new posts to my threads here.. I didn't know this had been answered so I apologize for the delay in thanking you!

I'll try the flash thing.. don't know anything about, but that never stopped me before..

The IP address of the mail server I am using has been blacklisted so any mail from the forum maybe bouncing back.
