Hey,

Could anybody tell me if it's possible to import a .pst file from Microsoft Outlook 2003 to Microsoft Outlook XP. If I do it from File > Import and Export in Office XP it say's that it is not compatible with the current version of outlook

Or maybe if there is a way to 'explore' pst files that would be really useful, I really need an email from that file.

Can anyone help? Thanks, Mart.

For a single email - If the Outlooks are operational on the same machine, you can drag and drop an email between them. If they're on different machines, just attach the email to another and send it to the other machine. You can also drag an email out of outlook to a folder.

  1. If you need to export/import the entire pst file, Outlook 2003 exports to:
  2. Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders file (.pst)
  3. Microsoft Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders file (.pst)
  4. Comma Separated Values (MS-DOS) (.csv)
  5. Comma Separated Values (Windows) (.csv)
  6. iCalendar (.ics)
  7. Tab Separated Values (MS-DOS) (.txt)
  8. Tab Separated Values (Windows) (.txt)
  9. Microsoft Access (.mdb)
  10. Microsoft Excel (.xls)

Did you try exporting to an Outlook 97-2002 pst file, then importing that?

I cannot get on that machine yet (Read Really bad day thread) but I put my other HD into this PC to get that pst file of that. As I cannot get on my other PC I cannot export it to a differant format So I need to use the Personal Folders 2003 format

Try importing it into Outlook Express.
