Hia, I'm testing out the upgrade from version 6.28 to 7.8, and it is going fairly smoothly apart from one thing. When I use the upgrade mod to transfer the data over, it seems to work, but gives the total number of posts as 0. When you go into a particular section it appears OK, but the homepage shows 0 posts, and doesn't add any when you add a post. I have searched for this problem, but couldn't find anything similar, perhaps few people are doing such a large upgrade jump? I also get an error when I try and post (Server.CreateObject Failed
/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp,
line 153) but I assume that is because my local server doesn't have
sendmail enabled. I only mention it incase it is connected? Thanks, -Alastair |

There are quite a number of posts on the post and topic counts after a 6.x to 7.x upgrade using the upgrade tool. To fix the problem, use the sycronise post and topic count function within the admin area, this will then set the correct numbers. Also posting in the verious forums will recalculate the counts for you. Thanks, that worked a treat.  Just a thought, but it might be worth mentioning the synch function in the readme of the upgrade tool. As an old 6.x user I hadn't notice it in the admin menu. Cheers, -Al |
