borg,

I happened to run across a mod'ed Siteman ( http://www.anyportal.com - www.anyportal.com ) script that uses component-less upload. It was mod'ed by none other than Samuel from AspPlayground and works superbly for the siteman.

At the risk of getting banned for pressing this subject , is there any posibility of getting something of this sort integrated into WWF? All it requires is write permissions on the directory of course plus yours or someone's time to develope it?

Thanks again and if time means that you can't then I understand.

Component-less upload and image dimension checking:

Administrators have the ability to turn on file attachment capability for

  • each forum with size, extension filter
  • private message with size, extension filter
  • custom avatar with image dimension filter
  • custom profile photo with image dimension filter

Our upload class has been specially designed to operate with virtually no overhead on your server. Unlike many of the script components you will find on the net, our upload class will not stress your server's CPU even when uploading larger files

This looks like a very good idea for all those WWF-admins that don't have permission to install componets on their server. Many hosts will not accept upload components.

Wait a second.....you need to install sa-fileup object on the server to use this script.... Then it isn't a "Component-Less Upload".....

I found another script which works perfectly (in seconds) without any additional component on the server. The code is very well commented and I believe not very difficult to change if necessary from an advanced ASP guy like some of the members of this community. Have a look. There are some other fun free codes there.

Hello there,

A client of mine told me that he found a few references to the name ASPPlayground.NET so I decided to drop by and say hi.

To borg: the upload class I use is a script class. It is still a class with methods and properties (only a few). Let me know if you are interested.

I'd be interested in a componentless upload too. I currently use a few upload scripts that are component free.

if noone comes up with anything I will have a go at writing one, I just need to get my head around how the forum integrates with the current uploaders, then build something like that.

Cheers

Kev
