Hi Great-Master-Of-Web Wiz: I'm wondering if you would consider adding SoftArtisan's SA-File-Up email component to your list of usable components for the forum? It works almost identical to ServerObjects' AspMail object. It uses all the same methods/properties and the only difference is you would change this line: Set objAspMail = Server.CreateObject("SMTPsvg.Mailer") to: Set objSAmail = Server.CreateObject("SoftArtisans.SMTPMail") Thanks for listening! SA File-Up is a different thing from SA SMTPmail. A friend of mine claims SMTPmail is faster than ASPmail or ASPemail, but I've never noticed a difference although I never clocked a comparison test either. Their pgp encryption is fast and easy and their authentication is good for servers that require you to login with a valid email login/password - gives good error messages - lol. -------------

You are correct in that SA-SMTPmail can be purchased separately from SA-FileUp. I hadn't realized that. However, SA-FileUp does *include* the SA-SMTPmail object. I'm glad your friend has benchmarked this component against the other popular ones. Hopefully the Master-of-Web WizForum will choose to add support for SA-SMTPmail to the next version of this great forum system. |
