In my room I have 2 mordaunt short floor speakers and 2 warfdale speakers all plugged up into my sherwood amp.

Is it possible to wire my PC up to my amp, so I can play music off my PC through my speakers?  Do I need special adapters to go from my PC to my amp, and any special software?

That depends on your soundcard. Mine came with a Y Adapter from Line Out to Chinch (Think that's what they are called)

If you go into Dixons you can get a Jack - AUX cable for about £10.

I use it for my pc. I will post a picture of what it looks like in a sec

That is what I call Y cable  but yeah, you just put that into your amp (AUX or something) and not sure about prices in UK but I buy such a cable (standard quality) for $3

The only thing is to watch the length from the PC to the AUX part of the amp. The longer it is the more you can get interference and a crap sound.

I connect my PC into my 24-8 channel mixing desk, equalizers, effects racks and slave amps and get all running in surround sound. Its fantastic when playing top games as well as getting on the one that should be obeyed nerves (wife) LOL.

Always remember quality is before volume.

I got a XM Radio stereo kit hooked up to my comp, just had to take the two audio jacks and get a adapter to make it a single plug (kind of like a headset plug). I'm sure you could do the same for the stereo.

It's fun playing a game with 4x200watt speakers blasting in your face!

Plus, its nice to be able to download a song, then instantly play it through my hi fi as supposed to converting it to wav, then putting it onto a CD.

Have a look at the good stuff...

There are speakers and cables out there that will cost you a months salary or more. I've seen CABLES going for 2,000 USD and higher. There are speakers that go along with them as well...

I just drool over them... Would be nice to have some of that stuff...

And the sound is just soooooo killer. At home I've got complete junk. Someday I'll invest in a decent system.
