Does anyone know a company/university etc that gives computing grants to "young people" (under 18).

What do you want the grant for?

Most foundation-type grants apply to specific societal concerns. -e.g. I need a computer for my "Save the Whales" program, or I need a computer because I'm unemployed and beed to learn some skills.

There are thousands of grant-givers, but you need to define a target area.

Certs aren't likely to be funded through a grant, but something like an associates degree which includes some certs might be. Last count I had about 3 dozen certs. Only about 4 are anywhere near still relevant - technologies come and go. Few technologies last 10 years and most educational grants are going to look for a longer term of viability.

Job training programs however are another thing - may be possible to get something there. They however tend to be narrowly focused on a specific need that may not be something you're interested in. You'd have to contact the equivelant of your Department of Labor for that. Probably more programs for people laid off or needing assistance getting off of welfare than for people coming into the jobmarket.

Uni i'm hoping to go this summer offers grants to all students for any course, you just need to get 2A's and a B at A level.
