When I try to run a asp script it prompts a file download rather then running the script. Both in IIS and on an external server...

help would be appreciated...

Regards

If it trys to download the file then it means that you do not have support for ASP.

See the tutorial in the ASP section of this site on what ASP is so you get an idea of how to run ASP applications. Just running the file in a web browser will not work, the file needds to be called through the web server.

thanks for your reply...

I have IIS installed and all my asp scripts used to run perfectly. but for some reason they do not anymore.. i understand that funning the file in a web browser does not work, but I am running the file from the wwwroot dir.

Also it does the same thing remotley on an asp server..

maybe I have enabled/disabled a function on the IIS properties?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check in IIS under the default web site properties that scripts are allowed to execute.
