Hi, there is an error when submitting change for forum permission, like adding moderators to some forums.

I quickly made a pdf describing this error, you can find it here:

You haven't mentioned what version you are using?

This error did occur with a previous version on some SQL Servers.

Try upgrading to the latest version to fix the problem.

I first came thought that error with my first installation (7.7) The first thing I did was to upgrade to the latest one ... (7.9) ;)

But that didn't help ...

I know that the name "READ" is a keyword in SQL and when using recordset in the form of rs.addNew and rs.update it generate uncompatible code... (That's where the error come from ...)

There is still the possibility that someone know a work around that error as this is a basic administration functionnality and probably anyone installing the forum will use that one ;)

So, does anybody know of a fix / work-around?

If not, then the error is then reported for the next upgrade and will come back to get the next version when it will be there ;)

Try reuploading the files in the admin area as this error shouldn't occur.

The page does work with MS SQL Server as this is the primary database that the forum is tested with and that particular function does work on this site as well, I've just tested it, which also uses SQL Server.

To prevent the error the keyword 'Read' is placed in square brackets to prevent the error you mention for happening. i.e. [Read]
