im currentlly useing v6.34.. and have developed a way for my users to get there passwords by the use of a secret question/ answer.... one thing is that web wiz v7 uses encription... so if this feature was going to be added if the question/answer where correct we would have to update the database with a new password and then tell the user the new password.... in other words in stead of sending the password to the use display it on the screen.....

it is feasable.. to do.....

If you are using the Access version you can look in the database and send them their password, but this is not a very professional or practical way of doing it.

If your using v7 you cant do that. The passwords are encrypted.

thats is a problem with Version 7.0.

because password is encrypted so what you think..

and its up to user that how kind to secret question he is putting..

and its not bad to show passwod on screen..

If so then you what you do dj air.

I want my users happy but they are not happy because of Forget Password and still i m worth less to give there passwords back in version 7.0

Ne Comments

A manual process would be to create a dummy user with a password, go into the database and write down that password and the salt value. If a user contacts you of a fogotten password you change his pass and salt to the forgotten one and tell him his temporary signin. Once he did that he can change his pass again. I know that is cumbersome but I am sure, if a solution is not going to be implemented, there will be a mod for that once the final is out. Remember, it is still beta.

yeah i think borg should make a Seceret Question / Answer for it, and it automaticly resets the users password to lets say "Password" and then they can login an change it

or they can choose a new one

If a user contacts you of a forgotten password you can simply change their password by using the "Edit Profile" feature without going thru all that hassle....

Yes, and you can send a email where you tell the temp password and warn the user to change it after he/she logs in.

But i think it should be the part of Version 7.0

It is in version 7.

If a user contacts you to say they have forgotten their password then all you need to do is edit their profile and change their password to a new one.

Not really that difficult.
