I have an online intranet application which is based around a dynamic calendar and content management. Basically, the calendar contains details of internal training schedules with dates and times.

What I want to do is allow the end user to select an event and somehow automatically have the details entered into their Outlook calendar with a reminder set at x minutes prior to the event.

There are 2 issues here.....

How to I achieve the outlook calendar integration? (possibly using the MS OWA?)
As the application is global, and that the event times are local (ie an event hosted in New York will be posted with an EST time, whereas one in the UK will be GMT time), what happens if a user in Japan adds the event to their calendar? (ie 14:00 in US EST time would be something like 22:00 in Japan, or even the following day at 02:00 - estimated times)

Please, please, please would someone provide some pointers or url's.
