I think Mr Troll forgot the option "Because like most people on this forum, I don't live in the US."

You DO live on the planet Earth, don't you?

Then you had better realize that the US is the only country willing to save your insouciant head from the militant Islamic beheaders!

You are so narrow sighted I don't see how you are able to get dressed each morning!

fundamentalism and extremism is bad..too sad that a lot of countries teach religious fundalmentalism and extremism as a part of educational syallbus and not tolerence and accecptance..i have studied a few religions in dominance todays and havent find any clear statement saying we must kill followers of other religions.. im not trying to open a religious thread here but im an generically talking about everyone..!!

true that in past people have foughts wars over religions but time changes..people may fight for freedom to practise their religion but fighting over religion doest make sence

its sad to say in todays world people use religions as a cover to hide their ignorance, save their power, win popularity, or anything..religion has become a tool to gain fame for 15 seconds

we all understand that waging war is not right let it be over religions extremism or WMD or pre-emptive strike or anything... we are not living in the days of sword where one who can cover himself in steel or lock himself behind stone and iron castle will be safe...we are living in the era of computers, electronics and nuclear.. all three when used in conjunction in wars can give birth to killing machines which will hunt down the humans wether they are beind steel or concerete or rock and iron castles..

when war happens, economies goes down, humans are killed, pollution spreads and hunger attacks, phychastric illness spreads which takes years to cure in a nation..as well as radio activity from DU based bombs which takes million years to eradicate.. time about which no body knows... a virtually infinite destruction..

Scotty, that is not true. You must be an US Citizen to vote. Even I cannot vote as I am just a Permanent Resident in the US so whoever told you that lied.

well either non US citizens can vote - or it doesnt concern us

i just prosumed non US citizens could from the attitudes on the previous pages

i understand we should have slight interest eg if bush stays in power and goes to war and drags the UK with him

but its not really any of our business if bush or kerry get in

Well I think anyone should care of what is going on in countries like the US, Russia, Irak and even England. If the person come to power, may mis-use the power you never know how it may influence you. Sure you have no influence over the election itself but being informed is the key to make good life-decisions.

You want to know why YOU can't vore or why I can't vote?
Well you cannot vote for the same reason I cannot vote, because only citizens can vote for their country. That makes sense, because if anyone could vote it may not be a vote in the best interest of the country. Why a Perm. Resident cannot vote, well, mostly because they don't really know of my intentions. I am still a german citizen so sure I can vote there but the US does not know if I am going to stay in the US etc. They need to cap it somewhere on who can vote. I can vote in some local elections though because they influence my direct surroundings. This is also a way that every country uses, so people become a citizen if they live there.

Actally, the president elections in US is almost more important in the news here than our own elections.. damnit I'm pretty sick and tired of all this sh*t.. everybody says the same, and does the same: nothing of what they promised us.

But it would only be fair if we could vote for presidents in the US, as they control almost more of our lives than our own presidents and ministers

but damn, now I/we have turned this into a political discussion.. sorry..

That's true... the US policy doesn't depend on people.. Clinton, Bush or Kerry. They are all Twins, US policy never changed since the 1970s
