Hi all,

I managed to set the forum up without tearing out too much of my precious, precious hair :) and it is working great.

Just one tiny niggle - I am hosting my site through oneandone and find the config panel has times and dates in German.

Even worse I tried installing the calendar and the months are in German.

Any advice (apart from changing webhosts ) on how I can get the months reading back as English

Thanks,
Ken

One and one have their servers hosted in Germany although for their UK customers they do say they place them on servers setup for UK spec with UK locales set as default, but quite often they get this wrong. (not to mention the countless other problems people have with them, just do a search of this forum to findout).

What you can do is edit the common.asp files with notepad.

Near the top you will find the following line:-

'Session.LCID = 1033

Remove the ' single comma from the begining of the line, this should then set the locale for your forum to UK English.

Also please note that you will probally need to disable email settings in the forum on one and one as these usually don't work with that host.

Hiya,

Thanks for that. However I did forget to say that was the first thing I tried :)

It kept coming up with a type mismatch error and really bugged me. When I remembered that oneandone servers were in Germany it clicked, changed it over and it worked.

I'll probably bug oneandone support about it, get them to sort it out. I pay enough for it

Cheers,
Ken
