Hi,

I try to "Compact & Repair" my access database forum and i get the following error.

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0035'

File not found

/forum/admin/compact_access_db.asp, line 110

I have tried in replacing the specified file but get the same error. The file is in the correct directory. I am running the latest version, 7.9.

Anyone got any ideas of my problem and how it can be fixed?

Thanks

Many hosts disable parts of the FSO object for security reasons, this means that the compact and repair feature will not run on all servers. Your site must be on one of these servers.

Alright boRG, thanks for the information, appreciate it. Will download the database, compact and repair it and then upload it again. Would that do the trick and is it safe?

That will do exactly the same thing as the on-line version

Probably a good idea to shutdown the forum from the admin panel before downloading so people who make posts to the forum won't loose them when the compacted data base is uploaded.

When you re-upload the .mdb. delete any existing .ldb file on your web server.
The .ldb is a temporary file that tracks who is where, doing what on your data base. The existing one will not line up with a newly compacted .mdb file. Normally the .ldb file is deleted when a db is shut down, but sometimes not.

I have a question...if you download the database to make a backup, and while you are downloading the database, there are active users in your forum....that will be a problem?
I must backup the database when there's no active users in the forum? Or it doesn't matter?
