When a user of my forum tries and login they get the following error:

Un-Successful Login

Your login was un-successful due to a cookie problem.

Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser for this web site.

I have told the user to enable cookies on their browser but they say they are already enabled. I have searched this forum and cant find any other solutions to this problem.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

What browser are they using?

If it is IE then make sure they have set their security settings for IE to a level that will accept cookies. They can also set IE to accecpt all cookies for a partcular site.

IE also suffers from a cookie bug problem where it's cookie cache can be corrupted. The only way to rset it is to first delete all Internet files, then delete all cookies.

Alternativly suggest them to use a better browser like Mozilla Firefox:-

I've just looked at your site and registered, logged in, then out, then in again with no problem.

So the answer to your question is in my previous post on this topic.

After you clear the cookie's, shut down the browser and restart it.

Almost 5 or 6 users of my forum reported me this error.
I'll ask them to delete the cookies and internet files. I use Netscape and I recommend to my users to use that browser.

It maybe that SP2 for XP also increases the security zone level for IE and prevents cookies from being set.

It maybe worth your IE users checking their security level for accepting cookies in IE.
