When editin' my previous Topic the Subject textbox contained characters like "#,&357".
I rekon this must be 'cause of the way the field was stored in the database ie(spaces are replaced with special chars etc..).

To re-generate the scenario:.

  • Just post a new Topic, Subject must contain ( or ' or ?...... and some spaces
  • before anyone posts a reply on it, open it and click on the edit button.
  • Now look at the Subject textbox.

That's the kid.

What browser are you using then?

As normally the browser will show any HTML encoding, including that populating text boxes as the caharacter it should be.

I've worked out what your problem will be, you don't have the apposphe character on your system so it can't unencode the HTML encoding and show that character.
