I've installed AspSmartUpload on my server - done
I've configured the file upload section under admin and made sure all relevant directories are available - done

Now what?  I was under the impression this would allow me to "attach" documents to posts, but I'm not sure where to do it - or what am I missing here?

I would like to be able to post a topic and have an attach-type button for attaching docs to posts - is this not what this is?

you have to allow uploading...

in the forum configure you need to set what type of person can upload ie all users, registered etc...

if you set it to private all groups that you want to allow uploading have to be set to do so in the group permissions area.

then when someone whith permission goes to post, there will be a button... one for image uploading and one for file uploading .. you can set which ones are allowed by using the above ways.

Done and obviously working (Ta) - up until it says "Please be patient while your file is uploaded to the server".  Click OK and the upload window goes HTTP 500.  The only thing I can think of regarding config problems might be the ASP FSO, but where to check if it's enabled/disabled I dunno

You need to turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE so you get an accurate error message. It tells you how to do this in the FAQ's.

Got that :)

On the funtions_upload.asp ;

Set objUpload = Server.CreateObject("aspSmartUpload.SmartUpload")

Error was "Server.CreateObject Failed"

I'm trying to go through the registration process again - used regsrv32 last time, trying component services this time...Any other ideas in the meantime?

Got it - Component installation of DLL worked - so much for regsrv32 then...

Thanks for the help!
