Hi

How we can have a drop down list on the forum main page in which it consists of different languages that forum is supporting, so the user can just select the right language for him/her and the forum gets refreshed with the selected language?

I don't think you want a drop down list since the user will not be able to understand what is in the list.  Check out how we do it at acrocat.com/bbs - that way the user sees his language and can select the one they want.

Wich version is your forum and did you change anything? Mine is V7.9 and as far as I can see I'm missing a few language files.

Furthermore I for myself only want the language selector.

Which files are you missing?

In version 7.9 there are 7 language files, in the download I see only 5 files. Furthermore, there is a lot changed and added in the (language) files from version 7.9 compared to v7.0/7.1. In the readme in the dowload it does not tell you what to add in the default.asp to get the drop-down menu on the front page.

That's why I asked you what you maybe changed or did to get it to work with the version you use. You know, like an installation readme

Anyway, thanks for your quick responce

What I mean is that there are 7 files in the language directory of v7.9 and there are only 5 files in the mod I downloaded. This mod is made for 7.0/7.1 and if possible I want to make this usable for v7.9. Also I cannot find what to add in the default.asp.

I seem to remember something like this.  I guess it's not really a big deal from what I recall, since once you see how they break it up into the different language folders, you add your own langauge files.

So the English files go in the \en folder
the German files go in the \de folder

Change the "Const str*" to "str*"

then in the \languages folder, you have your file that has the variables Dim'ed like this "Dim str*".

This is all from memory, since I am away right now.

Well, I hope your on holiday!  If thats the case; ENJOY!

I wait for your return then because I need to know for sure as I'm no ASP writer. I got the forum I moderate up and running with all the mods just by logical thinking. Looking at this mod and the information I have and found I do not want to take any risk, in short "help", haha

Hope to hear from you soon and maybe you can zip your files with a little instruction and send it to me
