I recently got a 4th Generation 40GB iPod.

My system has:
- Windows 2000 Proffesional
- USB 2.0

I attach my firewire cable directly from my iPod to my PC. I then run the installation CD. All installs fine up to the point where it needs to configure my iPod.

The iPod flashes, 'Do not disconnect.' and the installation process on my PC says 'Please plug in your iPod so that it can be configured.' I press ok, it's defintalty plugged in but it just brings me back to that message. The PC doesn't detect the iPod as an iPod, but as a removable disk drive.

I tried pressing cancel, but the iPod icon doesn't appear in iTunes. I also tried several reboots.

Works fine on my other computer, but I need it working on the one it doesn't work on because I'm off to University in a few days!

Any help is appreciated!
