hi guys,

i bought a new router the other day.
and now i have problems...

the routers working (ie im writing this)

but on 3 websites(so far) that should be ok and MSN Messenger/Yahoo messenger

won't work .

im not much with routers etc.

but when i have disabled firewall etc. it still happens. it doesn't say if the router has a firewall and doesn't give any clear config (signifing that its the firewall config)...

i think its the router as its only those aspects when the firewall on this computer/others on the network are turned off it still has the problem.

has anyone got any ideas...

i forgot to mention one of the websites loads the first page and then is sent to home.html (the actual main page).

but half way through loading the page it stops..... its been like this since ive had the router.

What make is your router and who is your ISP

aol is my isp and

i don't think uits the ISP coz when i just had a modem (USB) it was all working fine..

its funny the main page (home.html) doesn't work but some pages in the site do... and some don't ..its not an SSL issue as ive accessed my bank website (SECURE).

one of the websites in question is http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/home.html (this url wont work ) http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-ADSL R4

The only real difference with the one page that it appears to have some more JS but I doubt that is the issue. Did you try an alternate browser? Same result?
As for yahoo and msn not working, this may be a port issue thus should not hit you when the Firewall is off, maybe it's not the router and just a conincedence. Try the alternate Browser first if it makes a diff.

hi micahel

i did think along the lines of js.

ive tried accessing the website with AOL browser (IE is part of that).. IE6 on its own and firefox 0.9.

i have the same overall problem. in IE the browser loads half the bar (blue bar in status bar).

and simular in AOL. in firefox it just hangs (nothing happening but the symbol in top right keeps going round) the one below the X.

also when i try to search from firefox (search box under the symbol). when trying to use te google search link it just freezes. but it works in AOL browser.

im having the same problem on my 2 laptops and other desktop

One desktop & laptop with ME and one with XP .

have the same problem.
