I used this quite a lot today to see how it preforms. It seems a little slower than google - guess thats because it returns image results at the same time.
It is worth it though, it is a pretty cool search engine.

Yeah on the right of the Search Page you can push the buttons to turn off/on what all you want to search, Web, Books, Images, etc....

So you could turn off the Image results which might make it a little faster.

Also notice it says this at the bottom of search results:

Search results enhanced by Google. Results also provided by A9.com and Alexa.
