First the bug, since there's no limit set for the size of a post so if a user post a very very long message it'll throw an error like this one:

Error Type:
Request object, ASP 0107 (0x80004005)
The data being processed is over the allowed limit.
/forum/post_message.asp, line 148

It would be easily corrected by setting a lenght limit on the posts...

.....now my question is is there anyway to adjust the limit so you can store a lot of text in a variable without getting this error? I'm trying to use the ww mailing list app to send very long emails and it keeps throwing an error like the one above.....

NO!!!!!!!

Dont set a post limit

I run a hardware review site and i am making a mod where I can put some of my quick reviews in a forum post. A post limit would totaly mess me up.

I have already did some testing and I have been able to fit some fairly lengthy reviews in a forum post

The ASP response object has a 100Kb limit on form data, it would take an absolutly massive post to be over 100Kb in size, probally around 100 page word document might get there. Relistically how many poeple would post a message of that size?

Is there anyway to override that limit if i'm running my own server?

One of my moderators writes a newsletter for us and he posts it on the forums and I just copy and paste it to the mailing list... when he tried to post a 158kb (and it wasn't that long, just had a bunch of hyperlinks & stuff on it) one he got that error, then when he hits back everything is gone, so if the post limit could be set to 100kb it wouldn't throw that error and it wouldn't hurt nobody since anyways it's not possible to post a post longer than that... Also I tried to send that newsletter and got the same error, that's why i ask if there's anyway to override so i can send newsletters longer than 100 kb...

There is nothing that can be done, this is a limitation of ASP.
