This is a database error, but as it is so unspecific I don't know what is corsing it, try changing the database driver in the common.asp file to see if that sorts the problem out, also try reuploading everything incase of a corrupted file or database.

If you have change the LCID value, you may need to change it back to the servers own locale for this page, you will find an commented out LCID line that you will need to place the own servers locale number in if you have changed this.

I have not changed the value of LCID in any page of the Forum. On your suggestion, I uncomment the Session.LCID = 1033 line from the active_topics.asp page and reuploaded it. But the same problem is still there. I mean unspecified error. Please help.

Have you checked your database and followed all the other suggestions, if you have there is little else I can suggest you do.

Try beta 4 and see if it does the same.

I changed the driver the Database Driver in the common.asp file from

strCon ="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" & strDbPathAndName

To

strCon = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & strDbPathAndName

and the unspecified error has been gone. Please tell me which of the above Driver is Fast in performance. Thank you in advance.

The Microsoft Jet 4.0 is a faster driver.
I think your problem is that you don't have the Jet driver upgraded to 4.0 on the system that runs your forum.

I believe it tells you in the Access forum FAQ's how to check your driver version.

Also, what version of Access are you running?

Hi Trevni

I am using MS Access 2000 with Forum version 7.0 Beta 3. If there is a problem with Jet Driver, then why other pages work well with this driver except active_topics.asp. This page is generating error on my local computer as well as on remote web server with Jet 4.0 .

Oh, I did not realize you were only getting this error on one page.

In this case all I can suggest is for you to maybe overwrite active_topics.asp again to make sure nothing is corrupt in that file or try version 7.0 beta 4.
