Having A Problem Uploading
images/files/avitars using:  SoftArtisans.SAFileup

On web server - the setup procedure:
Permission set for Read/Write/Execute for the "Uploads" folder/s and
for the access database "forum" file only. Configured server object [softArtisans fileup] to use and uploads folder name from admin panel inside forum. Contacted server manager to verify server object is operational, tested OK. Server technical staff advised possible problem or bug with web wiz forum regarding upload component?

Here is the error message: SoftArtisans.SAFile.1 error '80070005'
Error occurred when moving cached file to final destination. Please check the NTFS permissions for the directory "E:\server\webpages\12\d67504\myforum\uploads\administrator" and the directory containing the file "E:\server\webpages\12\d67504\myforum\uploads\administrator\ 2004-11-

All I can think is that when a new user registers with the forum and uploads a file a new sub folder is created inside the "uploads" permited area and this creates the problem because it is a new folder and any new files added to it will need write permission set again, however I cannot get it to work?

Any comments most welcome.

This is a server issue, NOT a bug in the forum software!!

Creating write permissions on the upload folder should mean that subfolders inherit the parent permissions, check that your hosts have done this.

Also have a look on the softartisans site for possible courses of this error.

FWIW, I've witnessed the same error when illegal charaters are used in the filename being uploaded.  The filename must comply with system rules so be sure to parse and sub out any nasties before targeting it to the drive.

Take Care,
