This will be a permissions problem.

Check that other groups have upload permissions enabled.

go to the forum configuration page, then click on the forum name ,..

you will now have a list of permssions. you then need to change where it says forum admin only to private groups or registered groups.

I fallow what you see, but when I access by registered name It gives me this error like before, but with admin it's O.K.:

Server.MapPath() error 'ASP 0174 : 80004005'

Invalid Path Character(s)

/forum/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 146

An invalid '/' or '\' was found in the Path parameter for the MapPath method.

Regards

You are using an invalid path in your upload path you have setup in the admin section.

Windows servers use \ for physical paths not the Internet /

You need to give permissions for the verious different groups to allow uploading for that group in each forum you want to allow uploading in.

In the forum admin main page theree a box entitled "Forum Administration" Select the first link in that box - also named "Forum Administration" and you'll go to a page that allows you to set up forum categories. Select a forum category and use the drop-downs to set permissions in a particular forum.

You can also set the permissions for a forum when you create it.

i think hes on about group permissionas...

you need to go into the admin area.. click group permssions click a group you want to allow. then near the bottom of the page it says upload , check that.

also make sure the forum permissions are correct (see dpyers post on that)

faiz,

I would like you to check something for me. Go into the File and Image Upload Setup and Configuration in your admin menu and tell me what you have listed under Image Upload Folder Path*.

This is the path from the forum files to the folder that files will be upload in. The folder must be inside of the root of your web site and have write permissions enabled.
eg. ../images/upload

Sorry, I will rephrase my request. What did you enter in the text box to the right of Image Upload Folder Path*?

../images/uploads

I don't think it's a path or a directory permission issue as the admin can upload. I think he needs to set forum permissions from the admin menu for other groups to upload.

I had a similar problem where I had a / at the end of the Image Upload Folder Path so I thought that might lead to something.

On another note. Correct me if I'm wrong but if he does not have forum permissions set for the other users to upload images than the upload button would not be displayed unless he has modified the code.
