n00b needs HELP!

I read the Troubleshoot Forum Install and I did everything as it sad but I still can't get my forum to work... When I load the page it says:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

/forum/common.asp, line 260

And I just don't know what to do... Any sugestions?? Note that I'we done everything that says in the original "Throubleshooting guide" and with no result. there could be one thing that I did wrong and that would be the db name, the db name is "forum", should I enter the path or just "forum"?

The error suggests problems connecting to the MS SQL Server.

Check your settings for connecting to the MS SQL Server.

Also you do not use paths with MS SQL Server as you are connecting to a server and not a physical flat file database.
