A member from my forum is complaining about the (url) forum codes. He says that the links come out garbled whenever he posts. For example:

The following links are fake...

(url)http://test.trial.net/mac_lab/cinema_films/movies/sec_samples.mov(/url)

And here it is with [] rather than ():

sec_samples.mov">http://test.trial.net/mac_lab/cinema_fil ms /movies/

sec_samples.mov <http://test.trial.net/mac_lab/cinema_films/movies/>

He says he is using "Safari 1.2.3 on OS 10.3.5".

I'm using Web Wiz forums version 7.9 on MS Server 2000 with Access 2000.

Is there any fix for this bug for Safari users? I'm assuming it's only Safari with Mac because this is the only user who has complained about it. It works fine for me in IE, Netscape, and Mozilla on both the PC ad Mac. The guy is pretty much going off about how he doesn't have this same problem with other forums. Curse the browser wars.

The Safari Mac browser on some versions has bug (yest it is a very buggy browser)

The problem is that I made a fix for this bug in Safari, only for Safari to chnage this in the latest versions so that the fix now courses problems.

You just can't win with Safari, hopefully one day apple will admit that their browser sucks and start supplys OSX with a decent browser like Mozilla.

I would suggest to the user to use Mozilla for the Mac, not only is it less buggy but more forum features, like the WYSIWYG post editor will be available as Safari and yet to implement any RTE features in their browser.
