Hi,

I have finally figured out how to display the html that I have programmed the  rich text editor to save to my database.  But i want to have the ability to allow a client to update this info.  But when i populate the text box...i see the html CODE instead of the WYSIWYG.  I want to have them be able to see it like they would if they had just created it...in WYSIWYG mode.  Is this possible.  what do i need to change to get this result?

The WYSIWYG editor uses the file textbox.asp as the text area, you need to place the HTML into this file as if it where a nromal HTML page.

I have done this and can get the html code to come up as the initial value in the box....but i can't get it to show as a web page would (WYSIWYG) style.  It shows all the tags.  For instance instead of seeing <strong>test</strong> i want them to see just test already bolded and in WYSIWYG format.  I want the pics to actually show, not the html to display them.  Is this possible?

Thanks,
John

By the way...it seems to do just that when i put html directly in the textbox.asp file.  But when i have it pull the html from my database (which is what i need to do), it shows in the RTE as pure html and doesn't apply the tags...

Not sure what you are doing, but you are doing something wrong.

Maybe a link to have a look would help.

how are your values stored in the database? Are they stored as example <strong>yourtext</strong> ??
If that is the case the rte will not display it, you would need to htmldecode it before displaying...
